Thanks to everyone who has been
keeping me updated and just sending me random messages, they are very much appreciated!!
Romania
has suddenly become incredibly sunny and I’m loving it!! I’m a lot more settled
now and gradually getting into a routine and getting to know lots of people.
I spent the last weekend on the
other side of
Romania
for a youth conference in
Arad
which was a really great weekend and a great chance for me to get to know the young
people from the church a bit better. I know some of you have already heard but on
the way home a car of young people from a town near me crashed after the driver
fell asleep at the wheel. One of the passengers, a 16yr old girl has died and one
is in a coma, the driver has broken his back and fractured his legs. It’s really
sad and it would be great if you could pray for the friends and families.
I’ve spent a lot of time recently
with the families out in the villages as we wanted to see as many families as possible
before Easter. When my sister and uncle came they brought some small toys which
we were able to give out and it was a great surprise for the children who don’t
really have any. I can’t remember if I wrote to you about the gypsy family i visited
and the little boy who begged for shoes so he wouldn’t be bullied at school anymore.
Well we took him some shoes as well which was fantastic, his little face just lit
up and he ran and hid them away as soon as he had them so they wouldn’t get ruined
before school. We also went to visit a man whose family is in a very desperate situation.
His 7 yr old daughter Sarah is in hospital in
Iasi
(about 2 hours away) waiting for an operation which could mean she will be able
to start walking. In order to fund the treatment they have sold everything they
have except their home and all the families money is with the mother and little
girl in
Iasi
, leaving the father and 8 other children with nothing to live on. He says they
are trusting God to provide them with their needs. When we visited we gave them
some money which had been donated to help with their debts and the father could
hardly keep from crying when he told us he had been given a prophecy that God would
come to his rescue in the last hour and he told us we were angels sent to help him.
It was amazing to have such a clear impact on someone’s life, to actually be able
to make such a noticeable difference and to meet someone with such faith as him.
It was really humbling.
Well I’m running out of time here so I'll leave it
there. I hope everyone is ok and I think about you all lots!! Take care of yourselves!!
Much love…
Fiona
