Five Stars for Romeo and Juliet

Review of Romeo and Juliet

We recently attended the production of Romeo and Juliet produced by QQF at Theatreo Technis, NW1, for the matinee show on Friday 6th April, and are delighted to give it a five-star review!

Although the play was only an hour long, it did not detract from telling the full story, and did so with tenderness and humour, expressing the full meaning of love and tragedy of this classic Shakespearean tale.

Four of the actors in the play were people supported by The Camden Society: Mohammed Isse, Ann Taylor, Marion Fitzgerald and Lewis Agar.

Playing the priest, Mohammed delivered an excellent punch line when a messenger said he could not deliver the important message to Romeo that Juliet was not really dead because it was raining.  Mohammed’s response: “I told you he was in Mantua not Manchester!”

Ann also stood out with a vibrant and energetic performance. It was no surprise as she is a veteran performer and exudes great confidence on the stage.

The performance was enhanced by modern music that was evocative and beautiful, providing the background dance and movement performed with much grace, and costumes that were luxurious and designed with considerable flair.

It was great to see the theatre almost full with a very appreciative audience
