Just £2000 left to raise for this year's Great Escape!

We have now raised an incredible £26,481 for The Great Escape 2019, our activities holiday for adults with a learning disability.

This has been made possible by recent grants from National Lottery Awards For All, The Arsenal Foundation’s Gunners Fund and The 29th May 1961 Charitable Trust, as well as the many generous public donations received and the community fundraising efforts that we reported on last month.

We’re thrilled to have made such great progress towards our original fundraising target of £28,799. With just £2,318 left to raise, we’re now concentrating on the final fundraising push to make the holiday as successful and enjoyable as possible for the people we support.

The Great Escape 2019 starts on 12th August with 26 people travelling by coach to Woodrow High House. They will have the opportunity to enjoy five days of trips, games and new activities, enabling them to gain confidence, make new friends, develop new skills and step outside their comfort zone. The trip was brought back by popular demand following feedback from the people we support. One-third of them haven’t had a holiday in five years, an opportunity to take a break and experience something new that many of us take for granted.

Simon Liu, who will be attending this year’s Great Escape said that he’s looking forward to ‘spending a week with friends and cooking and eating food around the bonfire’. We can’t wait to hear how it goes!

It’s not too late to show your support for The Great Escape 2019 and help us reach our fundraising target. We’re grateful for any amount that you are able to give. Please make a donation here.

Thank you so much for your support!
